About us

It all started when a 9yr old was putting together his Christmas list and noticed that he didn’t need any of the items on his list.

His little 7yr old sister asked if Santa could deliver some of their presents to the Homeless, because she didn’t have money to buy gifts for them.

Their 15yr old brother proposed that we try to raise money from the community to buy gifts for the homeless … and Happy Tree was born.

In 2022, the Happy Tree kids held a Holiday Event at the local dog park
and at Smith’s Market Place, where they raised over $12,000 and
donated it to organizations that care for he Homeless in our community.

In the summer of 2023, the Happy Tree kids partnered with
Eccles and The Rescue Mission of Salt Lake
to help raise money for the Rescue Mission of Salt Lake
during the showing of Les Misérables at the Eccles Theater.

This winter, the Happy Tree kids will be back at
the local Smith’s Market Place for a 2023 Holiday Event.

“Life’s lessons will help you to grow upward, when they are rooted in love.”
- Grandma

The founding kids held “executive meetings” and decided:

They would be a volunteer group, where 100% of what they raised would go to helping the Homeless.

They would focus on supporting our local Homeless Shelters.

They would hold events in the local dog park.

They presented their idea to our local Smith’s Marketplace.

The kids received an overwhelming amount of support and encouragement.

Their Volunteering Efforts

Their Original Goal was to raise $500.

The kids made signs, created a website & Venmo, held two fundraising sessions at the dog park, made more signs, and held two fundraising sessions at Smith’s Marketplace; and… they were able to raise $12,017 to buy gifts for the Homeless Shelters!

The Community’s support and love were simply amazing!

They delivered the gifts to the shelters and celebrated all that they accomplished with donuts!!

In 2023, Happy Tree has worked to strengthen our partnership with Smith’s Marketplace and to establish partnerships with The Rescue Mission of Salt Lake and the Eccles Theater.

We are incredibly grateful for the support that we have received from everyone in these organizations! They have all been absolutely amazing.

We are now 16 kids and counting AND it appears that we are off and running!!!!
